DESCRIPTION: WW - Lord Elgin, 50-Millionth Watch Anniversary, manual wind, 19mm x 41mm to lug tips, 19mm lug width, original 18K yellow gold snap back case with curved articulating lugs, engraved presentation on case back dated July 1952, brown lizard strap, refinished silvered cross hair dial with applied gold indices, 21J cal 670, s#50000307, triple signed. Gross weight of 18K gold case without movement, strap or crystal 12.5 dwt (19.4 g). These watches were made in 1951 in a single run of 1000 pieces to commemorate the achievement of 50 million watches produced, and additionally there was one dummy model produced as well. These watches were originally retailed for $500, a vast sum in 1951.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, light fine scratches to plates, very light oxide to steelwork; fine refinished dial with ample surface spotting and discoloration; fine hands with numerous scratches and marks; polished case shows light wear, no dents or dings; crown shows light wear; good plastic crystal.
